Jimmy Barnes and his wife Jane have been in self-isolation since returning from their overseas holiday after the Cold Chisel tour.

The Australian music legend, 63, has been providing himself and fans lockdown entertainment by performing a cover of his favourite songs each night.

The singer-songwriter has explored a range of genres, including Irish folk, jazz, classic rock and more.

Jimmy and Jane used a guitar, banjo, piano and even bagpipes for the daily shows.

The couple have performed classics like Strangers in The Night by Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbison’s In Dreams and When You Were Sweet Sixteen by The Irish Tenors.

He even reached out to his good friends Sharon and Neil Finn by singing the classic rock song Better Be Home Soon by Crowded House.

‘We’ve got a song, it’s a tough song and a really beautiful song. This song means a lot to us,’ Jimmy said in a video posted last week.

He got the whole family involved as his children joined over live stream, explaining he wanted to ‘use technology to bring us all closer’.

Jimmy joined countless artists to promote the campaign on their social media accounts, from Triple J heavyweights like The Rubens, Ocean Alley, Flume and The Presets to other classic rock icons like Midnight Oil.

‘This is a message for everyone. Stay at home. Act as if you have COVID-19. This will save lives,’ the post read.

Jimmy simply added: ‘Stay safe and stay at home.’
