A big thank ewe! Farmer herds flock of 150 sheep into hillside tribute for NHS workers

Heartwarming photos show the efforts of farmers who herded a flock of 150 sheep into a hillside tribute for NHS workers that could be seen for miles around.
Rallying together to spell out NHS with the flock, the family of farmers undertook the mammoth effort to raise the spirits of locals in Luss, Argyll and Bute, south west Scotland.
Snapping a picture at the opportune moment the endearing stunt was timed to coincide with the Thursday evening Clap for Carers and took three attempts.
It took an entire family to herd the flock to spell ‘NHS’ on the hillside in Luss, Argyll and Bute, on Thursday as the UK took part in the Clap For Carers
Bobby Lennox, 66, drove a quad bike in the shape of the three letters, while granddaughter Kate Nicholson, 16, followed behind refilling buckets of sheep feed, which the animals stopped to eat as the tribute gradually took shape on the hill.
His daughter, Kay Wilson, 35, said: ‘We feed the sheep every morning and they come and follow behind the quad bike.
‘We tried different angles and were third time lucky.

‘Yesterday was the last day we could do it because they’re off the hill and back in the shed for lambing now.
‘It’s funny, people think it’s a magic trick or that the sheepdog’s did it.
‘It’s our wee tribute.
‘We’re out every Thursday clapping for the NHS and nobody can hear us so we wanted people to do something people in the area could see.’

Mum-of-two Kay and husband Dougie, 39, snapped away as the 150 Scottish blackface sheep were herded into formation on Shantron Farm.
Kay added: We’re talking about spraying the sheep or doing some hashtags.
‘We’ve been humbled by it.
‘It’s just to share some feelgood and positivity as there’s so much negativity going around.’
