Lego Masters host Hamish Blake stars in a hilarious backstory video about his dream of being a TV presenter

Channel Nine’s Lego Masters is a program that brings together people from all walks of life, to create something spectacular from small plastic blocks.

The show plays video packages that reveal what inspired the contestants to build – and it seems the host, comedian Hamish Blake, wanted to get in on the action and boast about his ‘very special’ hosting skills

On Wednesday, the 38-year-old’s hilarious backstory video was revealed on 9Now telling the story about why he wanted to be a TV host.

Born to be a TV host! LEGO Masters host Hamish Blake has starred in a hilarious backstory video about his dream of being a TV presenter

He jokingly explained that his earliest memory of wanting to become a TV host was at birth.

Hamish said with a straight face: ‘I came out of mum and I said “good afternoon everyone, it’s lovely to be here and we’ll be right back after these messages.”

He then pretended that he suffered a setback as a young child – he said he was diagnosed with ‘canthostisitis’ and added that doctors told him he would never host a TV show.

Natural talent: He also boasted about his innate TV skills - making hand gestures, commentary, reading countdown clock and creating drama

As the inspiring music swelled in the background, Hamish said that he defied the odds by digging deep and making his dream come true.

He also boasted about his innate TV skills – making hand gestures, commentary, reading countdown clock and creating drama.

His children – Sonny, five, and daughter Rudy, two – also make appearances in the video as his pretend contestants.

In on the joke: Hamish's wife, Go-To skin care boss Zoë Foster Blake, 39, also features on the clip when he reveals to her that he put a load of rocks onto their bed. 'You need to get a job,' she tells him as she walk out on him, as part of the gag

‘You need to get a job,’ she tells him, but as part of the gag.

At the end, he proudly says of his skills: ‘To me they seem normal, but they’re obviously very, very special skills.’

Hamish’s hilarious take on the contestant’s video package comes after his online prank, titled Zoom for One More, that saw him hijack video conference calls through the app Zoom.

Pranked! Hamish hijacked video conference through the app Zoom in a prank called Zoom for One More. He logged into air force flight log meeting and in the wake of his prank, the Australian Defence Force has banned the use Zoom as it could exploit security flaws

He joined in on an air force flight log meeting, a primary school teachers briefing and an executive meeting for the online retailer, The Iconic.

But in the wake of his prank, the Australian Defence Force has banned the use of video conferencing app Zoom.

According to a report in The Australian last week, Defence personnel have been ‘banned’ amid concerns ‘hostile foreign actors’ could exploit security flaws.

Season two of Lego Masters begins on Sunday April 19 on Channel Nine
