Discussing the storyline on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, Sam said: ‘It’s been great to be a part of it, it’s a privilege. Dolly has been amazing.

He added that Gemma was given lots of advice on how to play the role, and said: ‘I think from Dolly’s perspective she got [advice]. I was, not totally blind, but he [Chesney] was concentrating on going off to work to provide for them.

‘I think it’s a huge thing, it’s very real problem but the main thing is opening up to your partner or whoever and admitting you’re struggling.
