The MagicBook 14 is priced at £549.99 and is available in two colour options: sleek Mystic Silver or sophisticated Space Gray. It comes with an impressive 12 hour battery life. It also comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home and a free one month’s trial of Microsoft Office.

Upon opening the eco-friendly packaged MagicBook 14, I was immediately impressed by the laptop’s smart and sleek design. It is ultra-thin and lightweight, weighing in at 1.38kg and 15.9mm thick at its thickest point. This makes it perfect for carrying between your home and the office.

It features a full panel LCD Display with 16:9 ratio and an ultra narrow 4.8mm bezel, which is great for using streaming services like Netflix and Disney+, as well as watching YouTube videos and playing online games. The dual speaker in both the left and right side of the laptop offers you a high quality audiovisual experience.

The MagicBook 14 is built with a single USB Type-C Connector and fast charger, giving you half a day’s battery life in just half an hour. It also features one USB 2.0 (Type A) port, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type A port), a standard HDMI port and headphone and mic jack, which means you don’t have to worry about using multi-port adaptors like you do with other slimline laptops.

Now onto the technical aspects of the Honor MagicBook 14. The laptop has a range of impressive specs, including high quality features such as an ultra-fast 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage drive that’s up to five times faster read speed than a standard SATA SSD drive.

The laptop fires up fast and loads up apps and pages almost instantly upon logging in, using either a PIN or the built-in fingerprint scanner for added security.

It also comes equipped with a powerful Ryzen 5 3500U processor, Radeon Vega 8 graphics card and DDR4 dual-channel 8GB RAM, giving you consistent fast performance for just about any task, from internet browsing to online gaming.

Not only does this laptop deliver higher and faster performance, but it also offers improved data integrity and efficient power consumption.

The MagicBook 14 also features an innovative fan blade design that increases the number of blades for more effective airflow. This design keeps noise to a minimum and increases heat dissipation by up to 38 per cent.

Wondering where the webcam might be? You’ll be surprised to know the camera is actually built into the keyboard and hidden beneath the camera icon button. Simply press it for the camera to pop up. While I thought the camera quality was good and I liked that the camera could be concealed when not in use, the upward angle wasn’t always the most flattering.

My overall verdict is that if you’re looking for a laptop that is compact and lightweight in design but powerful and efficient for gaming, video-editing and general internet browsing, the HONOR MagicBook 14 caters for all of your needs. The affordable laptop is certainly packed with top range features you might not always find in a mid-range device.
