Cake Box has become the latest company to donate goods to NHS staff.
The bakery chain’s franchisees have given away 1,000 cakes, 2,000 cupcakes and 200 cheesecakes to front-line NHS workers and the emergency services.
It has also distributed 500kg of butter made from their fresh cream.

Cake Box, which has more than 120 stores and specialises in making egg-free fresh cream cakes, has had to shut its branches during the coronavirus lockdown.
Boss Sukh Chamdal said: ‘In these extraordinary times it’s more important than ever for businesses to contribute where they can and support the heroic front-line workers saving lives and protecting our communities.’
