Founder of personalised vitamin company Nourished raises £2million
The founder of a personalised multi-vitamin business has raised the second-largest seed funding for a sole female entrepreneur.
Melissa Snover, 40, raised more than £2million from angel investment houses to expand Nourished internationally and widen its range of products.
The firm, which launched in October, allows customers to take an online lifestyle questionnaire that produces a recommended set of vitamins and minerals, which is then produced as a daily chewable gum.

Snover, who is originally from the US and now lives in Birmingham, said she dreamt up the idea of putting several supplements in one pill after spilling a box of vitamin pills on an airport floor in 2018.
She co-founded her first business, Burton Mortgage Services, when she was 23, and helped launch Katjes Magic Candy Factory, which sells customer-designed sweets at corporate events and featured on the BBC’S Dragons’ Den show.
Snover also hopes to sell personalised medicine, after human clinical trials were conducted in Spanish hospitals under her Scripted brand.
Lunac Therapeutics, a Leeds-based drug firm founded by Professor Helen Philippou, raised £3.1million in December.
